Sandy believes in continued growth through education and learning. She recently completed the Certificate Program in Financial Planning at SMU in 2010, is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, and a Texas CPA. She holds a Series 65 license along with the Texas insurance license for life and health. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Missouri State University and a Masters in Finance from the University of Texas at Dallas. She is an experienced, results oriented Finance professional who has become a proven leader in a Fortune 500 company. Additionally, Sandy has been working in the field of personal financial planning for the last six years to expand her expertise into the personal arena. Sandy believes in giving back to the community and her country. She has volunteered and mentored through the Dallas Women’s Center, as well as the Alliance of Technology and Women. She has previously served on her homeowners’ Board of Directors in multiple capacities as Secretary, Treasurer and Architecture Committee member. Additionally, she has served as an industry board member for the University of North Texas School of Business; as a Deacon at her church, and, is currently an active Stephen Minister at her church. Sandy is a member of the Dallas CPA Society wherein she has served for the last 2 years as a member of the Education Conference Planning Committee. She is also a member of the Texas Society of CPAs (TSCPA), the American Institute of CPA’s ® (AICPA), the Financial Planning Association (FPA), and the Financial Planning Association of DFW (FPA DFW). Through the FPA DFW she is a member of the Pro Bono Committee supporting the community through free financial planning services which provide financial guidance and promote financial literacy to individuals and families in the Metroplex. She is a former officer who served in the Army earning her parachutist badge (jump wings), expert marksmanship badge and an ARCOM. She also supports former veterans through her lifetime membership with the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Chapter 55 in Simi Valley where both her parents are members (and disabled vets). Additionally she is active through the Big Brothers Big Sisters in the Military Mentors Program to mentor children and families of service members. Sandy also believes in enjoying life and living to the fullest. She is an avid horseman and rides her horse as often as possible where she learns to apply patience and fortitude. They’ve competed for fun and come in first, as well as almost dead last (well 28 out of 30 if one must tell) in halter and riding events. Sandy enjoys running and has completed several marathons around the country. Through hiking, Sandy has challenged the highest peaks in Sedona, Arizona’s Red Rock parks, as well as climbing Japan’s Mt. Fuji in 2005. She particularly enjoys traveling around the world and standing where history was made. Some things on her bucket list have been marked off, but there are plenty of places left to explore. In her “down time” she reads extensively and hangs out with friends and family. Business Background: Ms. Anderson, a US Army veteran, has an extensive background in corporate finance. During this time she served in various roles in Operations, Finance, Financial Planning and Accounting, and is well versed in all aspects of finance, business operations, risk assessment and asset protection. Running parallel to the corporate roles, she has been in the financial services industry since 2005. In 2011, Ms. Anderson attained the designation as a CPA/PFS, CFP® certificant, and is an active member of the Financial Planning Association, FPA-DFW, American Institute of CPA’s® (AICPA) and the Dallas Chapter of the Texas Society of CPA’s. Ms. Anderson is the winner of the 2012 D CEO Magazine’s Financial Executives Award for “Outstanding Chief Accounting Officer, Controller, or Treasurer – Public Company". She is actively involved as a comprehensive financial planner for individuals and businesses.
